It’s still a thrill to ride Big White, when I got off I had forgotten to breathe and was out of breath with excitement 🙂

Introducing Suzuki’s DL 650 V-Strom 2012.

It’s not actually Mr Suzuki’s, it’s mine.
The Versys was sold and the V-Strom bought. I love the Versys, great bike but the DL (need a name for it) worked away at me until Cupar Suzuki came up with their deal. So far so good. The bike was picked up on October 5th 2012 and has done 1,000 miles to date.

It’s not as funky, good looking as the Versys, hasn’t got the sporty capabilities, or as good brakes. Wee White has got ABS, and lots of tricks on the dash. Toggle between them with the original “pass” switch, now located as a flash on the high beam button. Great idea! Outside temp, MPG / MPL on trips 1and 2. Gear indicator, which personally I would have liked on the Versys. A 20 litre fuel tank giving a theoretical range of 268 miles. So the App, “Road Trip” calculates, I use this every time I fill up, service or add to Wee White.

One day at work Mike says, “how bout John O Groats and back in a day?” On Saturday 26th May we met at Culloden moor visitors centre, I had a run up to Inverness on the Friday as the sun was out. Heading up through, Lochearnhead, Tyndrum, GlenCoe, Fort William, along the side of Loch Ness into Inverness. The time/temperature monitor read 31* at Fort William.
Saturday morning from Culloden Moor we headed north to JOG. A warm, dry, sunny day continued all the way into JOG

When you’ve run out of road at JOG a quick blast along to Dunnett Head is a must, this is the furthest point North on the British mainland.

Versys, The TreeTurn

Kawasaki Versys. What a fantastic bike!!

The Versys rode to Misano for the World Superbikes from Amsterdam, up the Adriatic coast into Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, CZ, Germany and back to The ‘Dam. Then home from Newcastle Ferry. 3,600 miles in 14 days 58.77 MPG ( I love the stats, from Road Trip App) absolutely excellent.

In July this year 2012, Vee and Mee covered 3,390 miles in 8 days.
